“Sunset Breach” was photographed off of Maui’s coast looking towards the island of Lana‘i. I experienced a rare day on the water where the ocean was as calm as one can find it, leaving an amazing reflective and glassy surface. On days like these I think of the ocean as “Lake Pacific”. At sunset a lone Humpback whale repeatedly breached out of the water allowing me to capture this incredible moment.
