“Blues Moon” was photographed from Maui’s “bathtub” waters on the west side of the island. I took this photo on a morning where the ocean’s surface was largely undisturbed by wind, save the small ripples appearing in the foreground. As a waning gibbous moon prepared to set on the western horizon, I was inspired by the subtle palate of blue colors in the sky as they met the big blue Pacific ocean.
